Sonya L. Heath is a well rounded attorney with over 20 years in the legal industry with particular emphasis in family, labor and employment, criminal and traffic law; currently working as a solo practitioner at The Law Office of Sonya Heath exclusively focusing on family law matters. Ms. Heath previously worked for The Craig Washington Law Firm and at the First Court of Appeals as judicial intern.
Ms. Heath is currently Vice Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association's Family Law Committee, a member of The College of the State Bar of Texas and Houston Young Lawyers Association. During 2008-2009, she was Vice Chair, Employee Benefits General Committee, Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the ABA. She currently serves on several committees in the Mexican American Bar Association, and also a member of Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and Association of Women Lawyers. In 2006, she was a Court Appointed Special Advocate in Rock County, Wisconsin, and has participated in Houston Young Professionals for Children and Elves & More. This is Sonya’s third year training for BPMS150 from Houston to Austin.
